Introduction
|
TASOSS is the official organisation of the Tamilnadu Catholic Bishops Council (TNBC) for justice, peace and development. It reflects the social concern of the Church in Tamilnadu. As such, it assists the Church and the leaders to respond realistically to the situation.

Understanding Development
Development is a process of humanization, a process in which a person and community moves from less human to more human conditions.
Development again should take place in all spheres of life of the people and make it total and comprehensive. Therefore, the transformation and change should take place in the economic, social, political and cultural spheres of the people and the community.
This would mean that the development of the individual should be taken care of and community building must be emphasized. This community will be built based on the Christian values of love, peace, equality, justice and brotherhood. Change in socio, economic, political and cultural structures must take place in the society at large.
